About

The Art

I love to create art that everyone can enjoy! My main subjects are animals, comics, imaginary critters, and positive imagery and messages. The world can be a dark and scary place and I like to think that what I do can provide a little bit of joy.

I enjoy using bright, bold, lively colours and big chunky lines and paint strokes to bring my work to life. For years I used coloured pencils and markers, but a hand injury required me to move away from those My current preferred mediums are acrylic paints and digital drawing on my iPad.

I’ve had work shown at the Penticton Art Gallery, the Penticton and District Community Arts Council, and The Long Gallery, and have also worked with Critteraid, the Penticton Public Library, West Bench Elementary, Kelowna Culture Days, a project team at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and many private clients.

The Artist

My name is Lindsay (she/her) and I live in the beautiful Okanagan with my husband and our two sons. We moved here several years ago and I feel so lucky that we get to live somewhere so beautiful. Our neighborhood and yard sees wildlife of all kinds, from the ever-present covey of quails and parade of mule deer to an occasional sighting of an elusive badger or bobcat(!!). The abundance of life here is so inspiring!

When I’m not drawing and spending time with my family I enjoy cooking, reading, walking, biking, sewing, and playing the same video game for a month straight before getting sick of it and moving on to another one.

Public Art

The image at the top of the page shows me with my mural “Quails Over Penticton” at its home in the breezeway in the 200 block of Main Street in Downtown, Penticton, BC.

In 2022 I had an image chosen to be displayed as a street banner in Summerland, BC!
